Fanfuggingtastic.

So today I found out that I'm not Head Girl.
My reaction process went something like this:
.Felt like I was falling into a black hole
.Kind of OK when I found out who it was
.Gutted nevertheless
.Devastated and crying
.Kind of OK when I thought about it again

I have a feeling that process is going to go on and on in my head for a while. But to be completely honest I am really pleased that Hannah got it because she's a friend of mine and has been since year 7. So I'm glad it's someone I know and like. It could be MUCH worse.

But I'm still gutted.

Badtimez.

I am in control.
Today I have eaten two salads and two cereal bars.
I am in control.
I'm not eating chocolate until I finish school for the summer.
I do this, I go through a healthy eating phase and keep it up about a week and then I lose control and just give in to all the cravings.
I'm staying in control this time.
I feel awful when I'm sitting there craving junk.
I feel even more awful after I've eaten the junk.
I just need to remember this, and then I will stay in control.

My day.

I can't put what a mishmash today has been into words. And I'm really shocked that my spell checker has not given mishmash a red squiggly line.

So my latest YouTube video explains how I feel about making friends with people over the internet. I didn't think that people actually wanted to be friends with me from seeing my videos. I have a few close friends from YouTube but I thought that that was it. But I got such an incredible response from that video. I thought I was the only one to feel intimidated by subscriber numbers, but it turns out people were hesitant to contact ME because of MY subscriber numbers. This has really overwhelmed me because I've always been a person who loves to make friends and does so quite easily, my subscriber numbers haven't changed that. I'm so happy I made that video because some really lovely people have contacted me and I feel like I've made six new friends today.

In the span of three emails I told one of these people something about me I've never told anyone else before.
In the span of three emails I encouraged one of these people to come to a YouTube gathering.
In the span of three emails I showed my immature, teenage girl side to one of these people which is something I'm not usually comfortable doing.

I'm sorry to be a cliche but I feel like today has changed me as a person. I've got such an appreciation of the idea that strangers are friends you haven't met yet.

I hate the fact that with subscribers comes people thinking you're "famous". I don't want fame from my YouTube videos; yes I love that lots of people like to watch them, but I don't want anybody thinking I'm famous. I'm not on any level above those with 10 subscribers. I'm just a 17 year old girl from England, living the same life as other kids out there, except I put aspects of mine on film. I hate that there are people out there who would like to know me better but feel intimidated to contact me because of the number of subscribers I have. This isn't why I started vlogging. I started vlogging to try and new hobby and to make friends with people from all over the world. I've done the former and the latter, but I feel like the latter is becoming more and more unlikely as the subscribers go up. I'd still love to get more subscribers as it feels amazing knowing that people like my videos, but I want to be approachable. I wish they could come hand in hand. I wish I could explain to everyone that I want them so badly to come hand in hand.

Yay (:

My grandparents are round and they are taking me to see Hamlet (the one with Jude Law in) in July! Well we haven't actually got tickets because they are sold out but we are going to go up to Town early and try to get from the half-price ticket booth. If we can't get good seats for Hamlet they said they will take me to see something else instead. I'm really excited, I love going to the theatre with my nana and grandpa. We go quite a lot. I bought them an RSC membership for their wedding anniversary last year so they always bring the leaflets to show me and we just saw that James Fleet (Hugo Horton in Vicar of Dibley!!!) is playing Sir Andrew Aguecheek in Twelfth Night in Stratford-upon-Avon. Unfortunately there are no good seats left at all (even though it's not till October and November) which is SUCH a shame because we are all MASSIVE Vicar of Dibley fans. But never mind, knowing my luck there would probably be an understudy for him the day I went anyway.

Aside from that, I am currently sitting listening to old-skool Britney Spears. I actually LOVE it, she was so fantastic during the 90's.

I'm really pissed off at Facebook.
This whole "Like" status thing. I just realised just how absolutely RIDICULOUS that is. People aren't using it if they like what someone has said. For example:

Oli Bassnett cant trust any1 anymore !!
8 minutes ago · Comment · Like
Nathan Carrington likes this.

SERIOUSLY. Nathan's nice so I'm sure he doesn't actually like the fact that Oli can't trust anyone anymore. He probably can just relate to it or agrees with him. But he has "Liked" the status because that's the only option Facebook provides.

What the absolute HELL has made Facebook believe that they have the right to completely change the meaning of a word in the English language?

Idiots.

Ahh shit.

So my dad came in REALLY early to get me AccioJellyBean as my Facebook username. At the time I was thinking in my semi-concious state, "Ar bless him". But now I'm up and running (metaphorically, I do NOT run) I have realised THAT WAS SUCH A FUGGING STUPID IDEA OF ME!!!! I only use Facebook for people I actually know, I don't add YT strangers. It's nothing personal, but they can have my Twitter and my YouTube therefore I have Facebook just for in real life friends. SO WHY THE HELL DID I WANT ACCIOJELLYBEAN AS MY FACEBOOK NAME?! I'm such an idiot. I am considering turning that into a YouTube Facebook account and creating a new IRL one. But that seems like effort. Meh. I can't be bothered. I'll just have to reject a lot of people. Soz guys.

1.10am.

Why do people build themselves up when they are BLATANTLY going to have it all come crashing down on them?

I may be a cynic, but I'm not a pessimist. I'm a realist. I believe that for me (not for everyone) the best way to go about things is to be realistic in my expectations and then either be pleasantly surprised, unshocked, or mildly disappointed. I don't believe in all this ZOMG IT'S GONNA BE SO FUGGING AMAZING!!!!! stuff anymore because there's a chance that you will be absolutely gutted with the anti-climatic result. But nor do I believe in expecting the worse case scenario. Because that's just no fun. Sometimes I find myself getting carried away and I'm like OMG WALES IN LIKE FORTY FIVE DAYS!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!! or HARRY POTTER WORLD NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but let's face it; my train might crash and HP world might not get built on time. I'm not being pessimistic, I am being REALISTIC.

I just really hate being disappointed.

I'm so ineloquent lately, I'm finding it really hard to put my points across coherently. Hence why my last few blogs have been lists. Paragraphs just aren't working for me at the moment.

I really want to write a book. I started one last year but due to a change in circumstances I was unable to carry it on. So now it's just sitting there in my favourite notebook. It's only been read by one person and I know this sounds awful but I can't actually remember who it was...all I remember is that they thought it was really good and then I had to tell them that I'd totally ripped off the idea and style from one of my favourite authors. I want to write something ORIGINAL and actually good. But all the original ideas aren't good and all the good idea's aren't original. Because if an idea's good then it's already been done and if an idea is original then it's not good because no one has thought it worth writing down. It's all swings and fugging roundabouts.

I'm absolutely exhausted and I can so tell that the longer I type for, the more ridiculous this blog is going to get. And then I'll read it in the morning and I won't remember writing any of it. Here's the deal though right, in 4ish hours time we get to pick our Facebook usernames. I just KNOW that someone will steal the one I want. I even have a feeling that someone I know (don't know who but there's a few people who would do this because they're bastards to put it bluntly) would create a wasted account to do so. Pathetic, but that's the sort of people that I have to coexist with. I'm not staying up till 5.01am to get my account, because quite frankly I can't be fucked. But all I know that if I wake up in the morning and I can't get the name I want, I'm going to go off on one. My dad was all "You could always put a hyphen in" and I'm like FOR FUCKS SAKE DAD, I AM NOT PUTTING A HYPHEN IN! THERE IS NOT MEANT TO BE A HYPHEN THERE! And then my dad was all like "But you are right, someone probably will steal it." But that's coming from the man who's idea of a father-daughter activity is brewing 10 pints of lager together in the kitchen. So it's not as if I'm even going to trust his judgement on the matter. Now I've got pins and needles. I know a lot of people are like, in awe of how *amazing* the human body and its functions are, but SERIOUSLY. It's the fucking TWENTY FIRST CENTURY. Should pins and needles have not like, been evolved out by now? It's absolutely ridiculous, stupid things like having thick hair all over our bodies has gone so why the fuck can we still get pins and needles? I don't really think human nature is that incredible if we can't even adapt out of something simple like that.

I tell you what REALLY makes me laugh. Is people who think that I'm bluffing when I say something. For example, on telling my mum that I'm getting a tattoo one day, she said "Of course you are Jocy" in a patronising tone. The thing is, if she'd have taken me seriously then maybe I'd have been like "Yeah, she doesn't want me to so maybe I won't." But due to her taking the absolute piss, now I am DEFINITELY getting that tattoo. Because she thinks I won't do it. So I'll get it and I'll prove her wrong and THEN who'll be laughing? She won't that's for shizzle. It serves her right though because I don't think my mum takes me seriously often enough, so it'll be nice to shove that in her face one day.

Another thing that makes me laugh is this scenario. So I'm sitting in the living room watching TV. I'm simultaneously on my MacBook and eating some chocolate. And my mum gets all angry at me and starts shouting "YOU NEED TO START LIVING IN THE REAL WORLD!" Erm hello! I'm a TEENAGER! This IS the real world, not only for me, but for LOTS of teenagers. She's the one who needs to enter the real world and realise that the real world for a 17 year old is not the same world that someone in their 40's lives in. This is why I am making the most of being young; old people are always so bloody BITTER. It's like yes, you're old now, stop ruining the fact that I'm not old. Old is a state of mind anyway. I'll get older but I'll never get old.

Me and my nana are really close, I'd say. I'd actually say that out of all of my family members she's the one I have the most in common with. Any situation I present to her, she can relate to. And she doesn't judge me either like my parents do, she listens and she gives advice. And she doesn't patronise me or tell me I'm wrong. Unless I am wrong, and in that case I don't mind being told so. But I know some people who hate the fact that often I'm not wrong so they tell me I'm wrong anyway and it's like, Jealousy is not an attractive quality, dear. I HATE jealousy. I'm always jealous of people, but I'll get jealous of how they look or who they're friends with, the normal sort of teenager jealousy. And then there's some fucking IDIOTS who get jealous of other peoples' intelligence and so they make out that they're always wrong. But they just make themselves look even more stupid. And the people who big themselves up SO badly and make out they are the absolute BEST. And then you can't help but hope they fail, just so they look stupid.

Here is my life.

I start my A2 courses on Monday. Here is my to-do list for the next two days.

1. Tidy bedroom
2. Clean bedroom
3. Empty school-stuff drawer and organise everything in it
4. Order a new backpack for school
5. Find new earphones for my mp3 player
6. Buy stationary
7. Mentally prepare myself for A2 French

Can hardly wait. Ha.

Sometimes when I think the whole world's against me, I think about this.

The other day I was thinking about all the awesome stuff I've done during my seventeen and a half years. So I thought I would make a list of the particularly amazing bits and pieces that I truly believe make me a stupidly lucky person. These are not in chronological order because I'm not that organised.

- Climbed into a volcanic crater and smelt and saw the sulphur shizzle
- Snorkelled in the Mediterranean
- Had strawberries and cream at Wimbledon
- Been at the front of lots of concerts
- Been to a party that Bob Geldof was at
- Met one of my favourite authors twice (Louise Rennison)
- Met one of my old favourite bands twice (Plain White T's)
- Performed in the oldest theatre on earth, Epidarus
- Got featured on YouTube
- Went to prom in a VW Camper Van
- Been on TV when I was at a Mika concert
- Saw Britney Spears just before she cracked up and went a bit psycho
- Went to Disney World Florida
- Been to a music festival
- Been skiing three times

I sound like a spoilt brat now. Never mind.

My fail of a train of thought.

So I had this English exam yesterday and it was 2.5 hours long. Towards the end, I could NOT focus properly. Here is a list of all the things I thought about during the exam:

- That time I was at the Twilight premiere and I saw Rosi and James and we were really happy and hyper and excited in Leicester Square
- When I logged onto YouTube in July 07 and I had comments saying "congrats on getting featured!" and I was like WTF DOES THAT MEAN?!
- When me and Becca and Eleanor and Sarah went to see Kaiser Chiefs in 2005
- When I spent the week with my cousin in February 2007 and it was brilliant
- How excited I am about going to Wales
- I daydreamed a bit about me getting Head Girl
- When I met Alex Day for the first time and I made a total prat of myself
- When I met Myles Dyer and I made a total prat of myself
- That time when me and Eliot went for a nice walk across the fields near my house during Xmas 07
- When I got my first pair of Converses and when I wore them I felt like I was part of a really awesome club
- Becca's tent party after prom

Yeah. The last thing I was thinking about during those last 20 minutes was the English exam. Could possibly be my downfall...

I am indescribably chuffed to bits about this XD

Ohmygod, the epitome of hilariousity just took place!
Basically, last week I sent this email to Nestle:

"Hello.
My name's Jocy and I'm 17 years old. I've been a massive fan of your "Curiously Cinnamon" cereal ever since it was called Cinnamon Toast Crunch when I was very young. I remember when it was changed to Cinnamon Grahams, and I was a tad disappointed because I missed the old box because it was lovely and colourful. But I coped. However, this change to "Curiously Cinnamon" has absolutely baffled me. The box states, "Sweet but tangy. Sumptuous yet light. Crunchy yet mouth meltingly tasty.
The indescribable taste of toasted cinnamon squares." However, it is clearly not an indescribable taste. It has been described. With adjectives. So I am confused as to why you say that it is indescribable. Additionally, the "Curiously" part does not make sense either, because in the ingredients there is Cinnamon and Cinnamon Flavour. As a result of this, it's not very curious that they taste of cinnamon, because the ingredients denote that you had the intent of making them taste like that. Don't get me wrong, I think Curiously Cinnamon is the best cereal out there. I just wondered if you could enlighten me on the lexis choice on the cereal box. Thank you for your time!"

I sent it in kind of a jokey but I was serious about what I was saying. The LAST thing I was expecting was this letter in the post this morning...

"Dear Miss Levy

Thank you for contacting us about Nestle Curiously Cinnamon breakfast cereal.

We have changed the name from Cinnamon Grahams to Curiously Cinnamon to appeal to a more all family/adult market, we are simply trying to broaden the appeal and attract more people to our brand. Cinnamon is also a curious flavour in breakfast cereals, hence the new name of "Curiously Cinnamon".

I am pleased to learn how much you are enjoying this product and it was good of you to take the time to contact us.

As the manufacturer of many popular breakfast cereal products, we are aware of the need to ensure high standards are met and comments from out consumers are a vital aid to maintain these standards.

Consumer feedback is important to us and I will ensure that your comments are forwarded onto our Marketing Team for their reference. Please accept the enclosed vouchers, with my compliments, and I hope that this cereal will be as popular with in the future as it is at present.

Warm regards

Consumer Relations Executive
Encl. vouchers £3.00"

HOW AMAZING!!! I didn't expect them to reply, I just thought they'd have a right old LOL at me in their office!
And to top it all off, £3.00 Nestle cereal coupons!!
GARY COULING, YOU ROCK!!!!!
I will spend two of them on my next box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and I will stick the last one on my wall :D
Not gonna lie, things suck at the moment.
Had my last exam today which was A2 English Unit 6. I've been accelerated in English since I was year 2 (about 7 years old) and as a result of this, English is where everyone's major expectations in me lie. So basically, for weeks now I've had my friends and family going on and on about how "You're so going to get an A, if you're worried imagine how worried we are!" and it's like STOP IT! As if I don't pressurise myself enough I don't need it from everyone else too. It's all very flattering having people believing that I'm so able, but if I DON'T get that A I am going to look like a total IDIOT.
We had this fake awards ceremony at the end of year 11 and I got voted "Most likely to go to Oxford or Cambridge". Then at prom I got voted "Biggest Brains". Then on results day I had people coming up to me and saying "All A*s then Joc?" or "Let's see your straight A's!" Having to tell them that I got half B's was humiliating. Not because B's are bad, I totally think B's are really good. But when you have all these people thinking you're cleverer than you really are, that's humiliating.
It's not so much that I'm particularly intelligent (like, I'm above average but nothing majorly exceptional in anything), it's just that I do a lot of work so people get this geeky image of me and match that up with getting insanely high grades. Work and results do not necessarily always match. I wish people realised this because I'm terrified about results day now, more about English than anything else.
Ugh I feel so sick.
Sorry to be whiney and complainy.
And I'm sure that this blog was a bad idea bearing in mind the hate comments that I still get on my last video in which I talk about exam results.
Good night.

Badtimez that are actually pretty much outweighed by upcoming goodtimez (:

Tickets for Wales arrived! I'm so excited. So so so excited.
48 days.
Counting down.
Will be even more excited this time on Wednesday, after all my exams are over.

Shitting it about English tomorrow. I feel like it's crept up on me. But bearing in mind how the last year's worth of English lessons have gone, I'm as prepared on Twelfth Night as I'll ever be.
Not so nervous about Wednesday's exam, though I'm sure once tomorrow's over then that lot of panic will set it. But overall I've found the pre-release alright (or better than expected at least) and I've annotated four out of six texts.

Good luck everyone with exams coming up, I share your pain (:

FORTY EIGHT DAYS. :D

Predicament!

I’ve had quite a lot of people commenting on my love for reality TV lately, because I’m like, quite an opinionated person and my views usually revolve around literature, art, films and places I’ve travelled to. So it shocks people that I’m addicted to Big Brother because it’s generally associated with “freaks” and sad people. I totally disagree though. They pick the extreme people to go into the BB house, but that doesn’t make them freaks, it just makes them the minority. There’s nothing wrong with that. Don’t get me wrong, the idea of instant fame does appeal to me (I’m not saying it’s right and I’m not saying I’m right) and I think it’s hilarious watching the friction between all the people. But I also find it genuinely interesting to see how people that are so different interact with one another. I also find it interesting to see how their behaviour changes over the weeks and to see how they portray themselves in the VT and how this compares to how they actually are. It shows which aspects of their personality they’re proud of and which aspects they’re not proud of.

I’m not sure if it’s true or not but I’ve heard rumours that next year is the last series of Big Brother. I’m in absolute split minds about whether to apply or not. I REALLY want to because I literally have wanted to be on BB since I was 11. But here’s the deal. If I don’t get in it’s fine because I’d just continue applying to uni and the like. If I do get in, there’s a chance that it would overlap my A levels. Which might not be so bad if I went on to win it but if I lasted like two weeks and missed my exams, that would be TERRIBLE. Like, I don’t know how I’d get myself out of that. But if I don’t apply then I might regret it forever. Ideally, it will go on for another few years so that I can apply the year I finish uni. Arrrgghhh, I know this will sound trivial, pathetic, sad, ridiculous and just WTFISTHISGIRLON to most people, but I’m really stressing over this!

I need to get a life.

Not that I am one to plan in advance or anything...

Last night was a nightmare.
It was one of those nights when I couldn't stop thinking about stuff that I knew upset me. And I was getting more and more kind of arghhh about it all and then I cried and then I went to sleep. And when I woke up I felt much better. Because everything seems worse before a sleep.

This morning, everything seems more optimistic. Par exemple: TICKETS TO WALES ARE BOOKED! Meeting up with Tom on July 18th. SO EXCITED.

Mais that is not all, non. The other day I decided what I want to do in summer 2011. I know it's two years away, but it's the sort of thing that needs to be planned in advance, so I need to think about it now. I'll have about 3 months off for summer that year, so I have decided to live in Israel for that time. Being a Jew living in Britain, I think it's an important experience to have. If I had gone to a Jewish school I would have already been on tours of Israel by now, but I don't go to a Jewish school so I have got to the age of 17 having never seen the country. I think it's really sad. My mum and dad are in their forties and THEY'VE never seen Israel. I don't want that to happen to me. Everyone I know who's done Israel tours say that it's life changing and that any Jew will feel instantly at home there. I'm not religious at all (I'm actually an athiest) but I have a very strong sense of Jewish identity (I see it as more of a club than a religion) and so it is very important to me that I see Israel. So summer 2011 I'm going to chuck myself in at the deep end and live there for a few months. What I think makes this even better is that I've decided that I'm going to spend the money I got for my Bat Mitzvah on this trip. Usually, this would have been put towards a car, but I don't want a car. So I'm spending it on Israel. I can't really imagine a more appropriate thing to spend the money on to be honest. It'll be well good.

Kristen Stewart and cigarettes.

This just came up on my Twitterific feed:

"kristenstewart9 why must there be a pap outside everytime i go to smoke?
35 minutes ago from TwitterBerry"

I'm so in split minds about this. My first reaction was along the lines of OHMYGOD KRISTEN STEWART SMOKES. THAT IS SO WRONG AND GROSS. Nothing personal to her or anyone who smokes, I just personally hate it so much. But then I thought it through and kind of figured, well, let's face it, a LOT of people our age and around smoke these days, so why, just because she's a famous actress, should she be any different?

But then I thought it through some more and I've come to this conclusion: firstly, her being narked that the paps will see her smoking makes no sense as she then Tweets it to thousands of people. So what difference does it make if the paparazzi are there to see it if she's gone and just made it public to her fans? And I also think that knowing she has so many fans, she shouldn't be Tweeting that she smokes. Teenagers are SO easily influenced. So I don't think she should be making a point of telling people she smokes. But to be honest, I don't think anyone should make a point of telling people they smoke. We can see you doing it and it looks ugly. We can smell it on you, it's disgusting. We don't need you talking about it too.

But I love how Kristen Stewart is such a natural and awkward person, her dropping her MTV Movie Award was the icing on the cake. And she takes a lot of time to @reply her followers so I'm really not saying she's a bad person or anything. I just don't think her Tweeting about her yucky addiction is particularly necessary.
