The other day I posted a very cryptic blog.
Want it explained? No? Go away then (:
Let's start from the top. I want to be a TV presenter. It's my ultimate aim/aspiration/goal ETCETERA. The hardest thing about being passionate about a career in media is that it's very much reliant and dependent on who you know rather than what you know. I've been searching and hoping for some sort of experience into anything presenting related. On Wednesday afternoon I got a text from my friend Ross asking if I want to host a game show at his uni (a VERY well-reputed university for media) with him because they needed two presenters who knew eachother, male and female, last minute. And I was like HELLZ TO THE YEAH! So that was today. It was SO COOL! I was insanely nervous beforehand for a few reasons. I was worried that I'd be bad at it and I was worried that I wouldn't enjoy it and I was most worried that I'd love it but be bad at it and have to accept that it wasn't for me. I don't want to speak too soon as obviously I haven't seen the footage, but I think it went well! From peoples' reactions (two people were shocked to hear it was my first time presenting) I think I was okay! It was so amazing being in a studio, so so cool. We had microphones and a PODIUM and even a teleprompter/autocue machine! I was majorly psyched about that because I've always wanted to find out how using one of those is. I had heard that they're really hard but I didn't find it too bad really! And something else that I just found SO AWESOME was that at the end after we filmed the last link and the floor manager was like "Right, we're done", someone ACTUALLY said "That's a wrap." THEY ACTUALLY SAID IT!!! I thought people only said that on TV. So awesome xD
I'm so so so grateful for today :D I had an amazing time and can only hope there's many more of today's antics to come!!
